What is Pranic Healing?
A plain-language guide to what Pranic Healing is, what happens in a session, and where it comes from.
In one paragraph
Pranic Healing is a no-touch energy healing system developed by Grand Master Choa Kok Sui. It rests on a simple idea: the body has the ability to heal itself, and that process can be supported by working with prana, the life energy that keeps us alive and healthy. A trained healer, or you yourself after a course, cleanses congested energy from the energy field and energises the areas that are depleted.
What to expect
How a session works
There's no physical touch, and you stay fully clothed. How long a session takes depends on the concern.
You talk about your concern
The healer listens to what's troubling you and how long it has been going on.
Scanning
The healer feels your energy field with their hands to find congested or depleted areas.
Cleansing
Congested, used-up energy is swept away.
Energising
Fresh prana is directed to the areas that need it.
Continuing at home
You may be given simple practices, such as breathing or meditation, to support your wellbeing.
What people come for
Four areas of life
- Physical wellbeing
- Support for everyday aches, fatigue and recovery, alongside your medical care.
- Stress and emotions
- Relief from everyday stress, and help letting go of anger, grief and old hurt.
- Relationships
- More calm and ease in how you relate to family and colleagues.
- Spiritual growth
- Meditation and a daily practice that bring clarity and a sense of purpose.
What it is not
Clear about its limits
Not a replacement for medical care. Pranic Healing works alongside diagnosis and treatment from qualified doctors. Keep following your doctor's advice.
Not a religion. You don't need to believe in anything for the techniques to work. People of every faith, and of none, practise it.
Pranic Healing is practised alongside medical care, not instead of it. Please keep following your doctor's advice, and seek medical help in an emergency.
